About QISH

When I was a kitten, I was rejected by a pet shop. I thought that was bad, because I thought I am not lovable. But as it turned out, it was a blessing in disguise! I've heard of so many bad things and horror stories about pets that stay in a pet shop (fleas, mites, diseases, bad health in general).

About RUE

I am Rue, and I am your lil cat fairy. No, I don't have superpowers, but I do have super charms. I bring lots of mischief to my hooman momma, but she still thinks sweetly of me. I get naughty a lot of times, but she thinks it's cute! Only because I am charming, and I have the biggest eyes and the pink-est nose in the cat world!

OMG Moment of Horror

I love going inside things -- boxes, closets, cupboards -- anything that provides dark privacy to my liking. So imagine my excitement when I found the microwave oven slightly open on the countertop. I had to investigate, of course. It smelled of chicken, perhaps the dinner I just had. It was still warm, so it was perfect.

This Is Embarrassing (Video)

I don't think momma understands that this embarrasses me. And to add insult to the injury, she posted it in YouTube with this fancy schmancy music! My momma is B-A-D!!!

Holiday Buzz

-- Rue

OMG I've been so busy I failed to greet you on Christmas day! Meowy Christmas, everyone!

spending Christmas eve at Somerset Makati Ave. -- my dress is so purrrrrty! :)

Here's some buzz about my holidays:

I had a great Christmas eve at Somerset. My aunt invited us over, and I was supposed to stay there for the night but momma didn't bring my litterbox and whatnots. So we had to go home just before the Noche Buena. Besides, Qish was alone at home and we didn't want him to spend Christmas by himself. But what's great about it is that we discovered a hotel/serviced apartment that allows pets! Somerset along Makati Ave. accommodates pets at the 2nd to 4th floor. Momma said we'll book there some time, and we'll bring Qish, too! Yay! Another good thing is it's just across my favorite park -- Ayala Triangle Gardens! Double yay!

I got this really nice gift from Aunt Mariel and Uncle Ian: our framed family portrait, made of a mosaic of our various photos! Wee! Ain't it beautiful? :) You have to step a bit away from your monitor to appreciate it, but if you look closer, you'll see the different photos of Qish & myself! We love, love, love it!

Click photo to enlarge. It's amazing! :)
I got another wonderful gift from my PAWsome doggie friends: Jacks, Shachie & Tubby, and their hoomans Tasha & Trish. Qish and I love the dangling whatchamacallit toy! We have a video where we went a lil crazy with it, we'll post it soon:

Momma and I went holiday shopping at my favorite store -- Bow & Wow! Oh, everyone there was excited to see me, teehee :)

She was shopping for her cat, too, and she couldn't resist touching me!

One last good news: I won in Bow & Wow Petparazzi Video Contest! YAY! I am getting P5,000 Bow & Wow GCs as my cash prize :) Weeeee!

Here's my winning video:

Enjoy the holidays everyone! Don't forget to keep your furry babies away from firecrackers/fireworks!

We've Got Mail!

-- Rue

OMG look at what's in the mail!

It's from my doggy blogger-friend Oskar, and his hooman Pam! It is a gift we won at the Pet Blogs United holiday raffle. PBU has even more giveaways as the holidays near, so do check it out!

I bet you are excited to see what's inside, so here it is: a load of cuteness!

Zooborns Cats showcases kitty cuteness of big cats in accredited zoos worldwide. Proceeds from the sale will benefit Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) Convervation Endowment Fund.

Oh, and here's my handsome friend Oskar, thank you so much!

Sitting Idle in the Cafe

-- Rue

I've been really busy lately, collecting stamps on my card. How many times do I have to come back here and entertain the silly guard and parking attendant (they wave at me when they see me from outside the glass wall)? I want that planner!

You know, I wouldn't really mind going to the cafe if they would let me walk around and say hi to people. But momma always tells me to stay in my carrier and just watch people go by. What a bummer!

Poor Baby :(

-- Rue

We found this little one in Ayala Triangle Gardens last Sunday. Momma had to chase two kids who were chasing and scaring her away!

My heart goes out to strays on the street, because it really is such a hard life out there. I should know, I came from the street! I don't even want to remember the hard times anymore -- moments when you wanted a momma but had no one, times when you were so hungry but there was no food, nights when it would get really cold but had no home :( I am lucky to have found my hooman momma and brother Qish.

I shared my food with her, and we even came back after dinner to give her more food. She's a very sweet kitty! She sat beside us and gave momma some head bumps. Oh, and in case you didn't notice, she's an odd-eyed kitty -- one eye is blue, the other's green! How cool is that!

If you have an extra warm space in your home, you think you can share a good life with this baby? She is still in Ayala Triangle Park, trying her luck on begging for food from kind-hearted people. But luck is not always on her side, as she looks frail and thin. But she's just as sweet as every privileged cat!

Have You Seen the Best Movie Ever?

-- Rue

Have you been to the cinemas lately? I hope so, because I hope you have seen the best movie hoomans have made for us kitties!

I am talking about Puss in Boots, of course! If you didn't fall in love with his swashbuckling swagger, then you have a heart of stone. Or you're a tom cat.

Puss is so funny! But wanna know a little secret? I think he is my brother! We're both orphans, you see, and we both love our momma. Puss has a golden heart, and I do, too! Puss has an egg (I don't like Humpty Dumpty that much though, because he duped Puss!) for a best friend and brother, and I have a Siamese as my brother and best friend. He has a love interest, Kitty SoftPaws, and I have my boyfriend, Miumiu. He is an international celebrity, and I am an international internet sensation. But the most important thing is, his mission is to save the world with his sword and boots; my mission is to save the world, well, with my cuteness! See, so many similarities, I really think we share the same genes! Yay for domestic shorthair breed, a.k.a. the native/stray/mongrel cats! In the Philippines, we are called "Puspins" or Pusang Pinoy (Filipino Cats).

I think I could have done better if they got me for the movie though. No offense, my brother Puss, but who do you think is cuter?

Momma is loving the Puss in Boots apps she downloaded on her iPhone. I think it works on iPad, too! Here's the free Pose with Puss app, where you can watch videos, see Puss dance, hear him repeat what you say, and take photos with the characters like the ones above! So Cute! The other is Fruit Ninja Puss in Boots for $0.99 where you slash fruits for that slushy sound.

Also, in case you haven't been to McDonald's yet, they have Puss in Boots toys in their Happy Meal! Yay! I have everything, and this one sits on momma's desk at work:

Here are the other characters (on the background is the box of the Puss in Boots dance mat I got):

I am Puss in Boots!

-- Rue

Oh, people always tell me my eyes are sooo big I look like Puss in Boots! I am glad they see me as a celebrity look-alike, but I don't like it because I am my own celebrity

This is super late post, but on the opening night of the movie (Oct. 28) in Eastwood City, I met Puss in Boots myself! I got to hold his paw and had a few photos with him! I didn't expect him to be as big as momma though.

I told you he's big! It was a fashion show of kitties for Compassion and Responsibility for Animals (CARA), and I got to take a beautiful Puss in Boots Dance Mat home. But because I don't dance, we used it as a mat when we went to the park:

Little Red Riding Rue

-- Rue

This week has been crazy! I've been really busy pleasing hoomans with my cuteness. My blog couldn't keep up with my schedule!

But first, let me show you my beautiful costume -- this Halloween, I am Little Red Riding RUE! I wanted to be Puss in Boots, really, but momma couldn't find someone who can make my boots and hat. So we ended up with Little Red Riding Hood, which I think is super cute, anyway!

Ain't it pretty? I love the Hello Kitty patch on it. My grandma hand-sewn it for two weeks! She told me she wouldn't make a dress if it weren't for me -- that's how much she loves me! Oh, and please pay attention to my lil basket in the next photos! I soooo love it! Grandma went to Quiapo and searched every corner for it. I love my Grandma!

This is how I rock the little red hood:

I joined PAWS Scaredy Cats and Dogs event in Eastwood on October 23 and it has launched my career to international stardom! Eeeek, I am so popular now! I got the Hali-MEOW Award again and here's what happened there:

with Ms. Anna Cabrera of PAWS

Yay! I won! I won! It's the Hali-MEOW Award (Best Native Cat in Costume) again :)

One of the judges, Mr. Victor Basa (I was told he is a celebrity like me!) was kind enough to carry my prizes because they won't fit in my lil basket.

This is our friend, Jacks, who won the Transylvanian Star Award! He's the grand winner, yay!
The judges -- Louis Claparols, Joey Mead & Victor Basa fussing over me!
It was a tiring event, because it was hot, but we came prepared: momma brought a lil fan for me!

I had so much fun, but I was dead tired after.
