This Bothers Me...

-- Rue

...like a hooman fussing about his receding hairline (or graying hair).

Okay, so I was looking at the mirror the other day, and look what I noticed -- my whiskers are turning black! Ack!

Definitely not happy with mah whiskers!

It started from the root, and now it's working it's way to the tip. I have one on each side of my face. Has any of the kitties out there experienced this? Anyone? Please tell me I'm not alone in this curse! Would you know why this happens? Any remedy? I want to look flawless and perfect all the time, and this just makes me ugly! :(

HALP!

I'm sorry you hate your black whiskers.  Mine haven't changed before.

Hi Rue, mah kittehs have multi-colored whiskers... from white, to "blonde," to black. :P I think it comes with being a native kitteh--may be the blood of mixed breeds all a-swirlin' around in ya (methinks!). :3 Hope yer not worried anymore!

I really don't want them :( -- Rue

Oh, really? But, but...I look ugly/dirty with them :( How do I get rid of them (without plucking them, of course) -- Rue

Oh, don't worry baby Rue!  You are still a cutie even with the half black whisker!  My dusty Nuggie has those too :P I think he's had them forever.

Awww that's comforting to know, meowbykate . So maybe it's a common trait among native cats just like what Chiqui Perez  suggested? Qish doesn't have any weird-colored whiskers. -- Rue
